The PE Pulse Network aims to increase the quality of physical education and sport being delivered in schools. We do this by providing professional development opportunities for sporting officers and educators and by promoting events, programs and services within the local ACT community.

Dragon Boat ACT

Overview

Dragon Boat ACT (DBACT) is the peak organisation in traditional Chinese Dragon Boat racing for the ACT. DBACT encourages and supports schools and juniors aged between 12 – 23 years who wish to participate in Dragon Boat racing and enjoy having fun with their friends and team members. As paddlers you will have opportunities to develop strong leadership skills, key motor skills, communication skills, lasting friendships, while having access to qualified coaches (Australian standard), all training equipment and participating in regatta days. Through our affiliation with our governing body Australian Dragon Boat Federation (AusDBF) you will have access to numerous dragon boat related courses (coaching, officials) and further opportunities for leadership development. Dragon Boating is an ideal sport for those students who are looking for an environment where you do not have to be an elite athlete, you can be with your friends and be part of a team that works together to achieve a common goal of having fun.

Overview

Hockey ACT delivers the Hook in2 Hockey schools program which offers a 4 week free program to schools where students will learn the basic concepts of hockey whilst developing key motor skills and enjoying time with friends. Hook in2 Hockey Schools programs are available during all school terms.

Overview

Brumbies Rugby conduct school clinics and teacher training in coaching and officiating. Assistance can also be provided in the coaching of school teams leading to gala days and competitions, and also in the provision of starter packs of equipment.

Overview

The Aussie T-Ball program uses games sense activities to help kids develop cooperation and competition, which are essential elements of team games. The program is structured so that each week participants play a game sense activity followed by a game of Aussie T-Ball. Aussie T-Ball offers two different package options; Teacher Delivered and Community Coach Delivered, to suit the needs of your school and to help students develop skills and confidence around Baseball in a fun, safe environment.
