AFL NSW/ACT

AFL NSW/ACT focuses on encouraging physical activity amongst school aged kids, providing skills and knowledge  of the game and strengthening links between the code, our elite team the GWS GIANTS and the local community.

ACT Little Athletics

Jetstar Little Athletics (LAACT) provides modified track and field events for children between 5 -17 years. Little Athletics Program for Schools (LAPS) is a free program that will develop students’ basic running, jumping and throwing skills and is delivered by qualified coaches. LAPS is an inclusive program that can be adapted to suit any level of ability.


Athletics ACT

Athletics ACT (AACT) manages, develops and promotes athletics. AACT school clinics are designed and specifically tailored for secondary school students and teachers to meet individual requirements and delivered by qualified coaches and officials. Clinics cover the skills of athletics, health and fitness as well as prepare students and staff for their school’s athletics carnival.

Badminton ACT

ACT Badminton Association is committed to support schools, teachers and the community. They offer professional development coaching courses for teachers, school coaching programs, talent identification and junior umpire courses. ACT Badminton also run the annual ACT Badminton School Competition, junior tournaments and can provide advice on coaching, badminton equipment and resources purchases, facility planning and any general badminton related advice.

Baseball Canberra

Baseball Canberra is the peak body for the sport of baseball in the ACT. It is the role of BC to provide Canberra’s Clubs with the leadership, structure and framework to ensure baseball continues to grow and be the game of choice for junior, social and elite players in the ACT.

Basketball Canberra

Basketball ACT delivers school clinics with an emphasis on inclusiveness for all. Basketball ACT also provide leadership development opportunities for students who are interested in coaching or officiating.

Cricket ACT

Cricket ACT offers a range of activities for schools which include; In2Cricket Skills Program, T20 Blast Gala Days, Secondary Leadership Program and Teacher Professional Development opportunities.

Cycling Australia - Let's Ride

Empowering our kids to ride safely! Let’s Ride is a national junior riding program designed by Cycling Australia (CA) to be a fun learning experience for kids. The program teaches them to ride safely by developing their knowledge, skills and confidence – giving parents peace of mind.

 


Physical Activity Foundation

The Physical Activity Foundation is a Canberra based health promotion organisation and registered charity. We aim to get all kids, more active, more often!

Active Kids Challenge

Active Kids Challenge is an 8 week health promotion program, to inspire & encourage kids to be active for at least 60 minutes a day. Schools can sign up at any time & the Challenge takes place from Weeks 2 to 9 in Term 3 each year.

Ride or Walk to School

The Ride or Walk to School program is designed to drive culture change within the school community to once again, make riding and walking to school the norm for our kids.

Ausdance ACT

Ausdance ACT is the peak professional body for dance in the ACT. Our services include support for independent dancers, development projects, and the promotion of dance and dance education, with special interests in the professional sector, youth and community and professional development for dance teachers in the ACT. Ausdance ACT believes that everyone can dance. We celebrate dance, of any kind, of any culture. As part of the National Ausdance Network, Ausdance ACT has a key overview of dance in the region from a national perspective.

Dragon Boat ACT

Dragon Boat ACT (DBACT) is the peak organisation in traditional Chinese Dragon Boat racing for the ACT. DBACT encourages and supports schools and juniors aged between 12 – 23 years who wish to participate in Dragon Boat racing and enjoy having fun with their friends and team members. As paddlers you will have opportunities to develop strong leadership skills, key motor skills, communication skills, lasting friendships, while having access to qualified coaches (Australian standard), all training equipment and participating in regatta days. Through our affiliation with our governing body Australian Dragon Boat Federation (AusDBF) you will have access to numerous dragon boat related courses (coaching, officials) and further opportunities for leadership development. Dragon Boating is an ideal sport for those students who are looking for an environment where you do not have to be an elite athlete, you can be with your friends and be part of a team that works together to achieve a common goal of having fun.

Jack Newton Junior Golf

JNJG introduces young people to the game of golf, nurturing their skills and enjoyment of the sport. Programs provide an Introduction of Golf to Primary and Secondary school students. All school programs provide connection to community golf clubs and facilities. JNJG also offers a teacher training program for teachers to deliver their own golf program at school.

Gymnastics ACT

At Gymnastics ACT, we believe that Launchpad Gymnastics is the ‘nursery of Australian sport’. As a base, confidence and competence in fundamental movement will set the foundation for future sporting success for lifelong, active and healthy participation in physical activity.

Launchpad Gymnastics programs rely on safe activities that challenge participants relative to their abilities and stage of development, with games and activities based around fundamental movement patterns, delivered in a fun and engaging manner.

 


Woden Valley Gymnastics Club

Woden Valley Gymnastics Club provides curriculum based gymnastics programs for your school. We incorporate the Gymnastics Australia LauchPad program philosophy of Fun, Fitness, Friendship and Fundamentals and are registered with Sporting Schools should you receive funding.
The programs are fun challenging and oriented to a child’s growth and development with all levels of fitness and ability. We cater for all age groups and abilities, from early childhood to Year 12, including special needs groups. We provide qualified, enthusiastic and experienced coaches. We can come to you or you can come to us at our modern and fully equipped facility.

Hockey ACT

Hockey ACT delivers the Hook in2 Hockey schools program which offers a 4 week free program to schools where students will learn the basic concepts of hockey whilst developing key motor skills and enjoying time with friends. Hook in2 Hockey Schools programs are available through all school terms.

Jump Rope for Heart

Jump Rope for Heart is a physical activity and fundraising program for schools. It is a great way to keep our kids hearts healthy whilst raising vital funds for the Heart Foundation.

Netball ACT

Netball ACT specialises in the delivery of  Junior Development Programs for Primary Schools across the ACT. Netball ACT are committed to providing each primary school aged student a netball experience and ensuring there is a connection back to a club or association as well as the netball community.

Orienteering ACT

Orienteering is an adventure sport where participants navigate around a course using a map.  Orienteering ACT conducts orienteering competitions and provides training and coaching opportunities for teachers, parents and children from 7 years and upwards.  The sport of orienteering offers children the opportunity to apply problem solving skills and adventure challenges in a safe learning environment, concurrent with developing and refining their fundamental movement skills.

ACT Oztag

ACT Oztag conduct school clinics which cater to the primary years 2 to 6. The clinic aims to provide students with a fun introductory experience to the game of Oztag as well as teaching the fundamentals skills, basic rules, tactics and game play.

Royal Life Saving Society

Royal Life Saving ACT offers a variety of education programs, resources and delivery options for ACT schools. The suite of research-based programs, designed specifically for schools, include; Water Smart, Swim and Survive, E-Lifesaving, Aquam8, CPR in a Box and Bronze Medallion.


Sports Medicine Australia (ACT Branch)

Sports Medicine Australia’s free smartplay flyers, fact sheets and brochures support schools in their efforts to improve safe participation within sport and physical activity.  Short courses and workshops delivered within school time by the teacher, or SMA lecturer, provide students with the skills to improve safe participation within sport and physical activity and awards them with a certificate on completion.


Bluearth Foundation

The Bluearth Foundation is a national health promotion charity that strives to support all Australians to be active. We are educational experts in the delivery of movement and sports based programs and experiences to children aged 0-17 and provide training to their teachers, families and school communities. Brumbies Rugby

Brumbies Rugby conduct school clinics and teacher training in coaching and officiating. Assistance can also be provided in the coaching of school teams leading to gala days and competitions, and also in the provision of starter packs of equipment.


NRL ACT

NRL offers programs such as: PlayNRL In-School Program is an exciting program that aims to introduce students to Rugby League in a safe, non-competitive and fun environment, they also offer a range of classroom resources for Teachers to implement into their classroom activities.

 

Capital Football

Capital Football provide assistance to the ACT school network in particular through their Sporting Schools program, disability football program “Football Connect” and teacher mentor and education programs.

Tennis ACT

ANZ Hot Shots is a game just for kids. With smaller courts, lighter racquets and low-compression balls that don’t bounce too high, learning the skills of tennis is made fun and easy. The program can include coaching and school sessions.

Touch Football ACT

Touch Football ACT (TFACT) provides a range of community participation events and skill/game development clinics upon request at any ACT school. TFACT also hosts a range of school gala days through out the year including inter school championships.

Triathlon ACT

Triathlon ACT provides participation, sport development, education and performance programs and events.

The TRYschools is a program which provides an enjoyable entry level introduction to the sport for primary school children. It feeds in nicely to the TRYstars program which focuses on developing the basic skills of triathlon and concludes with a participation event, designed for achieving a personal challenge in a non-threatening environment. TRYclubs will be launched in 2016 providing a connection between schools and the Junior development program. It ensures seamless pathway options for the juniors. The program combines introductory skills sessions, progressive training programs, social events, education seminars and a wonderful environment to meet new people.

 

Volleyball ACT

Volleyball ACT delivers the SpikeZone schools program, which offers a 2 week free delivery where students will develop the fundamental skills of the game and learn to play as a team in this fast paced sport. SpikeZone is available in terms 2 and 3.
