How long has your organisation been in Canberra?

Netball ACT is the governing body for netball in the ACT and was established in 1980.

What age groups do your organisation work with?

We have programs available all around Canberra for boys and girls aged from 5 years. Each of our districts run regular competitions for all ages and we have a very popular social competition that allows for people aged 16 and over to participate.

What is your most popular event or clinic?

Our Sporting Schools program is our most popular clinic as it provides an opportunity for children all around Canberra to have their first netball experience. We receive amazing feedback from schools regarding the quality of this program, particularly how professional and friendly our development officers are. Our School Holiday Programs are also extremely popular, we run clinics for boys and girls aged between 5 and 15.

What is the funniest thing that has ever happened in your office, or during an event?
It’s hard to pinpoint a single moment – every day something funny occurs in the Netball ACT office.
What is a fun fact about your organisation?

Netball ACT has five districts running regular competitions ensuring everyone has easy access to participate in netball. Our five districts are Arawang (located in Stirling), Belconnen (located in Charnwood), Canberra (located in Lyneham), South Canberra (located in Deakin) and Tuggeranong (located in Calwell).

Who is the most well-known person to come from your club?
Sepi Hawke is the most well-known person to come from Netball ACT. Sepi played at the highest level competition in Australia and represented Samoa at the Commonwealth Games.
